Mattresses for the Rest Assured program are manufactured by local workers in Kremenets, Ternopil in western Ukraine.

Building on existing resources

Home Essentials acquired the production capacity of an existing factory that was sitting nearly idle. The presence of this factory was a key driver for our decision to set up operations in the small town of Kremenets.

Not only were we able to get the project off the ground in a short time. We also secured the jobs of many skilled workers who were facing unemployment. We were greatly assisted by the Regional Investment Authority of the Ternopil Oblast (state), the Mayor, and the City Council of Kremenets. A partnership that became a precedent.

Employing local skills

Home Essentials now employs about 20 people at our mattress factory in Kremenets. Mostly women, these artisans bring extensive skills and knowledge to the operations. In the near term, we are planning to double the team to more than 40 workers. Throughout 2023, we are aiming to employ 100 full-time staff in Ukraine.

We would like to thank the local and regional governments who are assisting us with hiring local people for other functions as we expand our operations.

Sourcing Regionally

Many smaller suppliers in the Ternopil Oblast provide everything that’s needed for producing the Rest Assured mattresses. Foam, quilting, springs, machinery… everything is sourced within a few hundred kilometers radius and assembled by our workers in Kremenets.

This saves tremendous amounts of time and costs, and also spreads work to other cities in the province.
